The rabbits are used instead of children. The story is based on the theme: my clothes. In the story children learn clothes they wear for different occasions or events (weddings, birthday, church, games, when having a cold/running nose). Ada and Bob put on different clothes when going for different functions: church, wedding, birthdays, games, school, doing house chores, when having a running nose and even when playing in the homestead. They also learn that playing without the correct clothes (shoes) is dangerous. They learn this from experience.
